ABS Conservation Scholars Mentors

Purpose: to hire ABS graduate students to work as mentors for undergraduate students participating in the ABS Conservation Scholars program.

Amount: ABS graduate students will receive two academic semesters of support (Fall and Spring), including a stipend ($20,000), health insurance, tuition and fees.

Who can apply: ABS students in good standing in the ABS Program are eligible. Students with approved learning plans with have priority.

Application deadline: July 1, 2016

Guidelines for submission: Please submit the following information to Dr. Thomas Lacher tlacher@tamu.edu.

  • The student name, advisor name, academic department
  • Updated CV
  • One paragraph describing your past, present, and future involvement in the ABS program.
  • A one page statement about why you wish to be an ABS Conservation Scholars Mentor
  • Advisor’s letter – a supporting letter or email from the student’s faculty advisor approving the proposal.
